FM Radio: Number of Bands going up, Quality going down..

7. July 2009 by Close To Reality 0 Comments

When i was young, it is a pleasure to listen to the radio. though the number of FM bands are very less, each band has it's own touch and almost all the hosts and news readers have crystal clear (distinct) voice with a perfect accent and a strong hold on the language that they are suing.. I still can remember news reader Addanki Mannar's rock solid tone and sunday special programme for children "balanandham" followed by a long one hour play. daily afternoon news at 12.30 by koppula subba rao or duggirala poornaiah. after that a program called "karmikula karyakramam".. Like this, every program has made its own impression on people's hearts and it is a pleasure those days. But now the number of channel are not limited like those days, but what is the use, you change to any channel while you drive (days are changed, now you are no more kid to sit at home and listen to radio, so you have to listen to it while you are driving) you'll be listening to some idiot who doesn't know how to speak telugu/hindi/english properly, or you will be listening to some over stylish woman who is trying to create a telugu of her own style with some stupid jokes written by some gentleman/gentlewoman.. Cry Yes, like we changed, those FMs are also changed.. Those golden days of ALL INDIA RADIO (AIR) are no more..

At present a total of 171 AIR FM Transmitters and 248 Private FM Radio Stations are operational in the country.  Details  are as follows:
